His hand slowly moved up the girl's back, fingers working quickly at the hooks on the back of her bra, hoping that would be enough to distract her. He knew it would be more than enough to distract him, and keep him that way for quite a while. She was a bit more resilient, slapping away his hand and sitting up, pulling the blanket around herself, unfortunately denying him a view of the fruits of his labor, as he saw the bra start to slide down her arms.

"I'm telling you, I heard something out there!" She insisted, eyes wide and staring out the large window beside the bed.

"Anybody tell you you're cute when you're frightened, baby?" he asked, standing up and feeling very smooth and suave, his plans evolving quickly. "Kind of... vulnerable, almost." He winked, reaching for the blanket. "How about we just cover up that big, bad window with this, so you don't have to worry?"

She just glared at him, keeping an iron grip. "Stop being an asshole, Kevin. You never know what's out here."

"What are you talkin' about? There's nothin' out there, babe. You're just not used to livin' out in the middle of the fuckin' woods." Kevin shrugged. "But would you rather be back at your house?"

Bethany shook her head. "If you're going to act like this, then yes." She was probably going to end up getting in trouble for this anyway. Sure, the plan had seemed solid enough to begin with - tell her family that the couple she was house sitting for wanted her to stay over there, to be safe, assure the couple that she would follow their wishes and not stay there. She'd have to endure a few phone calls a day from her mom, who still seemed to think she couldn't feed herself or even use the bathroom without needing to be reminded, even though Bethany was already 16, and not 1 1/2 like the daughter of the couple who owned this house. But in a town this small, plans like that had a tendency to fall through quite often.

"Oh, come on, don't be like that," Kevin sweet-talked, sliding back into bed next to her. "You know I'm just teasin' you." He snuggled up next to her.

She scooted away. "Could you at least go make sure nothing's out there?"

Kevin laughed, having to work hard not to get louder when he saw the dirty look Bethany shot at him. "If it'll make you feel better, I'll go chase away the boogeyman." He threw his shirt back on and moseyed down the hallway, secure in his belief that Bethany was in the palm of his hand.

Bethany, on the other hand, was considering locking the door behind Kevin. She knew she wanted to, more so every minute; she should have known he would be trying to get into her pants if he stayed over. Still, somewhere in the back of her mind, she had been sure that he would be a perfect gentleman, that he'd just be there to keep her company. And to keep her from being in this house all by herself. Ironically, it was the last part that kept her from going through with her plan. This house made her feel like a little girl again, and the way Kevin was treating her wasn't helping. But there was no way she was about to walk through this house on her own, after thinking she saw something out in the woods. It made her feel like even more of a baby, but she just couldn't help it.

Since she couldn't do that, she'd at least get dressed again instead. She reached behind herself, refastening her bra as she stood up and walked over to the night table where her sweater was lying. As she tugged it on over her head, she heard a violent thumping outside the window. She gave out a little scream and jumped about five feet in the air before realizing that it was probably Kevin, and she cursed herself for being so stupid.

She was sitting on the edge of the bed, fuming, when Kevin re-entered. "Didn' see any zombies or anythin'," he reported.

She glared. "You're such an asshole," she told him, crossing her arms.

He held up his hands to calm her down, trying again not to laugh. "Whoa, what are you talkin' about? I just froze my butt off wandering around out there, and this is the thanks I get?" He stepped forward quickly, hands grabbing for Bethany's waist and pulling her towards his body. "Talk about rude. Not even one little kiss?"

Kevin was a big guy; it took almost all Bethany's strength to shove him away, and even so she still ended up backpedaling a few steps herself, her feet running up against the foot of the bed. She tripped, falling onto the crumpled up blanket she had discarded for her real clothes just a few minutes ago. She tried to stand up, but Kevin was right there, eyes shining with a hint of anger, his hands grasping her wrists and holding them down.

"That was even more rude," he said quietly, dangerously. "Maybe someone ought to teach you some manners." His face started to move closer to hers, and she struggled wildly, finally managing to shove him sideways, so that he rolled over off of the bed. Unfortunately, he didn't loosen his grip on her, and she fell with him, or, rather, under him. She gave a loud cry as his much heavier body landed on top of her, tears welling up in her eyes. Now what?

She let her head roll off to the side, exhausted and almost defeated. How stupid could she be?

"Hello there, lassie," said a little man in a green suit and a hat, which he held in one hand as he bowed to her. "Sorry for giving ye a fright earlier, but I didn't think ye'd mind me popping in for a few."

Bethany wasn't sure what to do now. Screaming wouldn't have been a bad idea, but she didn't have the air in her lungs to do it. "Wh... Wha..."

"Oh, I think ye already know that," he winked, settling the hat back on top of his emerald colored hair.

"No way," she gasped finally.

"Well, if ye'd rather I wasn't here, I can always go," the man shrugged, sounding a bit offended. "I just thought ye'd like a bit o' help."

"I wouldn't mind..." Bethany said, surprised at how easily air was coming into her lungs now. She looked up to see Kevin seemingly frozen in time on top of her. "I don't think I can catch you right now, though..."

"Oh, don't worry about that, lassie," the leprechaun chuckled, cheering back up. "That's just for me pot o' gold. Wishes are free, but ye just get one."

Bethany thought for a few moments, trying to figure out how to solve her dilemma. "I wish... I wish Kevin would stop bothering me about..." She stopped for a moment, blushing at the word about to come out of her mouth. The little man reminded her of the preacher at her church for some reason, and she hardly wanted to talk to him about this. She started to reconsider her wish during the pause, wondering if that's really what she wanted, since she figured it was probably going to be a permanent thing. But just because he didn't bug her about it didn't mean they couldn't do it, when she was ready... "...sex," she finished.

"No problem," he smiled, and, with a tip of his hat, he was gone.

Had she imagined that? Bethany wondered, but only for a second, because with the next one came a release of the pressure on her wrists, and a great lessening of the weight on top of her. "Ahh, damn it!" She shook her head with a sigh. "Shoulda seen that one coming." Of course, she hadn't, so now she was stuck with a baby on her chest, and no sign of the leprechaun.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Fine!" Gwen pouted as she stomped up the stairs to the second story of her house, where her room was. The sound of laughter from below was inter cut by a harsh admonishment, which she answered with, "I'm not stomping!", before continuing to tromp to her room.

It just wasn't fair. She was ten years old... Why couldn't she stay downstairs with her parents' friends? Okay, so maybe she had been a bit bouncy, and maybe she had knocked Mr. Teller's drink over on accident, but that was no reason to banish her to her room. She slammed her door closed behind her with a huff, pre-empting the inevitable complaint by screaming down that she hadn't meant to slam it.

A total lie, of course, but she hardly cared. So what if daddy got pissed and came up to give her a talking to? At least he wouldn't be downstairs watching the stupid TV, or reading his stupid newspaper, or playing some stupid card game with his stupid friends.

She threw herself onto her bed sulkily. This was one of those times when being an only child sucked a lot, she decided. At least if she had a little brother or sister, they could suffer together, and she'd actually have someone to talk to, for once, unless the kid was like the rest of her family, and just ignored her.

She bounced up and down on her bed, eyes wandering back and forth across her room, trying to find something to do. There was nothing, so she flipped over onto her back and stared up at the ceiling dejectedly, trying to come up with a plan to run away to her grandma's house, where she could have all the cookies she wanted, and grandma was always happy to see her, and spend time with her.

She was so engrossed with her planning, she barely noticed the little figure walking towards her on the bed. "Hello, little lassie," the leprechaun greeted her, taking off his hat. "Ye seem a wee bit sad over something. Anything I can help with?"

Gwen shrugged, not overly surprised at seeing the man; living in this town, she'd seen a lot of weird stuff. There were a lot of things she wanted, though of course one was stuck rather firmly in her mind at the moment. "Can you make mommy and daddy pay more attention to me?"

"I'd be happy to," he smiled, giving her a wink that felt like a big, warm bear hug before vanishing.

She heard footsteps outside her door a moment later, and then a knock. "Hey, Gwen, do you want to go to the movies?" she heard her mommy ask from the other side. In the driveway below, a couple car engines were starting.

"Okay!" Gwen said happily, hopping up off of her bed to look for her sneakers.

She heard her door open, and after a minute, her mommy was holding her shoes. "Looking for these?" she asked, and Gwen nodded, taking them from her and sitting on her bed to put them on.

'Not too bad,' Gwen thought to herself. Not a bad wish at all.

"Hold on a second, sweetie," mommy said as Gwen started to get down from her bed. She knelt down, gave the knot of each shoe lace a little tug before letting Gwen stand. She put her arm around her little girl and pulled her in close to her side as they walked down the stairs together.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Chyna, come on! We're gonna be late for school!" Raven did her best to pretend that was a bad thing, as she shouted through her little sister's door. "You've been in there all morning!"

"Leave me alone!" Chyna shrieked, her voice sounding scratchy. "I don't feel good!"

Raven sighed, leaning up against Chyna's door. She hated the days when her mom and dad both had to go to work early, and she was left in charge of getting herself and her siblings to school on time. Of course, Chyna wasn't usually -this- bad... "Look, I thought you were okay with me forgetting to take you to the movies yesterday."

"I am!" Chyna yelled, sounding a touch defensive. "I don't feel good!"

It might have been hard to catch, if Raven's hearing wasn't a bit enhanced; on the other side of the door, Chyna was starting to cry. "Oh, God, don't do this to me," Raven rolled her eyes upward, but received no help. If she had even an inkling of a suspicion that Chyna knew Raven could hear her, she would have busted down the door and dragged the girl to school, even if she was still in her pajamas. As it was...

"Fine!" she said finally, throwing her hands up in defeat. "Just open the door so I can see you're not dead or anything, and I'll leave you alone."

"Really?" Chyna sniffled softly. "I-I don't have to go to school?"

"You will if you don't open this damn door," Raven threatened half-heartedly. A few seconds later, she heard the little lock on the door come undone, and Chyna peeked her head out of the door.

"See? I'm alive," she said, starting to close the door again before even giving Raven a good chance to look at her, until Raven slammed her hand on it, a bit harder than she expected. Chyna fell over onto her butt as the door banged against her wall. "What was that for?" she asked, eyes, already red rimmed, filling with tears.

Raven felt too guilty to actually step into Chyna's room now, though she did give it a quick look over. Chyna, already fully dressed, got back to her feet and blushed as her sister surveyed her disaster area of a room. "Did you set off a bomb in here or something?" Raven shook her head. The girl's sheets and bedding were all crumpled up at the foot of the bed, and all the the drawers in her dresser were open, clothes strewn everywhere.

"What's the hold up, you two?" Chyna's twin brother, Ro, asked, walking up behind Raven. At least, that's what it sounded like he was saying - it was hard to tell with the toothbrush he was holding between his teeth. He glanced around Raven to the inside of Chyna's room, curiously. "Holy crap!"

Chyna looked like she was going to blush even deeper red than before, but instead her face turned pale. "Go away!" she screamed, slamming her door closed. From the other side, Raven heard the lock on the door clicking, and two thuds as Chyna fell down onto her knees on the other side of the door. Her crying was quite a bit louder this time, but now there was no mistaking it for an act to get out of school.

"Come on," she said quietly, beckoning Ro away from the door. "We'd better get to school."

Ro nodded, setting his toothbrush down in the bathroom and spitting out his last mouthful of water and toothpaste. "What's up with her?"

Raven shrugged. "I guess she's not feeling well." She considered calling the doctor, just in case, but something told her that wouldn't help.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bethany smiled down at the still sleeping form of Kevin, the first rays of sunlight pouring through the window into his crib. Or rather, the crib of the baby girl that lived here. She was sure Kevin would be absolutely mortified to find himself in a pink, fuzzy, footed sleeper when he woke up, if there was even a shred of the Kevin she knew left in that baby's body. And for all she knew there was, so she had every intention of finding the most girlish outfit the couple had left behind to dress him up in once he was awake. It was a pity diaper companies only made unisex diapers now...

Of course, if there -was- any of teenager-Kevin left in there, it was probably laughing at her. She had left the light in the hallway between the nursery and the room she had slept in on all night, and even so, she'd still had a fairly difficult time getting to sleep, with all the trees blowing back and forth outside her window all night. If she could have, she'd have gone home, but she would have felt guilty leaving baby Kevin all alone, and she had a hunch that her mom wouldn't accept 'a leprechaun' as an explanation for why she had a baby.

She looked over at the brightly colored clock hanging on the wall, wishing it would just tell her it was too late to make it to school. She always felt less guilty once she knew she wasn't going to get there in time anyway. She hadn't even thought about school the night before, but she definitely needed to come up with a plan for the next day. Missing two days in a row would -not- be a good thing at all. And besides, her friends were all planning on dying their hair green for St. Patrick's Day, and she didn't want to miss that.

The thought of green hair reminded her of the leprechaun. She still wasn't sure how she felt about him. Maybe he hadn't picked the best way to do it, but at least he had gotten Kevin off of her, and for that she was very grateful. It was the leaving her out in the middle of the woods, basically alone, part that she wasn't pleased with.

The sound of crying from the crib snapped her out of her thoughts, and she smiled down at the squirming figure below her. "Sounds like somebody needs a change," she chuckled, tickling his tummy before picking him up and carrying him over to the changing table. Things weren't too bad, she decided. They could have turned out a whole lot worse.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chyna got to her feet shakily, wiping her eyes with the back of her hand before beginning to take off her now wet pants. Just something else she was going to have to get washed before her parents or siblings got home. She threw her jeans at the pile of bed things, wishing she had anyone but herself to blame for all this.

What had she been expecting? She had been in that nursery dimension for how long? She had no idea, since there hadn't been any calendars or anything. It was long enough for her to need, badly, the diapers she'd been forced into. Though, on a very slight positive note, she'd also been there long enough that her body had finally had time to do a bit of catching up; some of her bras were a little tight, for once. However, that would hardly matter, since nobody would care about how sexy she looked when she was standing there in wet pants, or, even worse, and, depressingly inevitable, diapers.

With a sigh, she grabbed her mattress and struggled to flip it over, so that she could get to the wet spot so that she could try to wash the stain out before heading out to Wal-Mart. At least she wasn't going to have to worry about anyone from school being there and seeing her, or anyone at home asking what she'd bought. That didn't make what she had to do a whole lot easier.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"You know how to get our numbers, right?" mommy asked nervously, leaning across the seat to stare at the screen of Gwen's new cell phone.

"Yes," Gwen rolled her eyes. "I haven't forgotten since two minutes ago."

Mommy smiled sadly. "Sorry, sweetie... I just want to make sure you can get ahold of us, just in case anything happens." She gave Gwen a hug.

Gwen couldn't help but smile. Even if it was annoying occasionally, this was still nice. And not just having a cell phone, which only one other person in her class had. They had let her stay up late last night, too, so that they could play a whole game of Monopoly. She had almost fallen asleep partway through, sure, but it'd been a blast.

"If you need -anything-," mommy added. "Anything at all. Daddy or me will be here in a flash. Or both, if you want."

"Okay," Gwen nodded, opening her door and stepping out of the car. "I'll see you later!" She ran up to her best friend, Connie, and they walked up the steps to the school. At the top, Gwen turned and waved one more time to mommy, who finally started to drive away as they walked into the building.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Are those real diamonds?" Raven gasped. Anne giggled and turned her head a little so that her friend could get a better look at her new earrings, so she could see how well they matched her rings, necklace, and bracelet. "Why are you wearing that stuff to school?"

Anne shrugged. "Why not? I have plenty more at home."

Raven shook her head, still breathless, and feeling very odd because of that. Normally, stuff like jewelry just didn't mean anything to her - she wasn't exactly girly. But this was just... amazing. She was no expert in jewels, but these diamonds had to be pretty high class, even as far as diamonds go. "Where did you get all this? Did you win the lottery or something?"

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you, hun," Anne smiled.

Raven watched her walk away, while off to her side she saw some guy passing out handfuls of cash to the hotter girls that passed them by. Whatever he was saying to them afterwards got him slapped more often than not, but he didn't give up, and sure didn't seem to be worrying about running out of money. At the other end of the hallway, a girl, almost radiating light, had a halo of followers around her, practically bowing at her feet.

"What the hell is going on here?" Ro asked, walking up behind Raven.

Raven sighed. "I guess we'd better find out."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

If there was any store closer to the house that Chyna thought would sell adult diapers, she would have been willing to go there instead of Wal-Mart, and risk her parents knowing the owners, by the time she had gotten to the main stretch of shops of her town. Her feet felt sore already - her feet seemed to have grown some, too, so she'd have to bug her mom about getting new shoes. She'd get them now, but she wasn't even sure she'd have enough for the diapers, and those were more important at the moment.

She wanted to sit down on one of the benches she was walking past, but she knew she didn't have all day. She would still have to walk all the way back home, and she'd prefer to do that before lunch time at the high school came. She was so going to spend the rest of the day in bed once she got home.

If she ever got there. Her leg muscles were aching as she took another step towards Wal-Mart. Well, she would spend the whole day in bed after she took a shower so she didn't feel quite so sweaty and icky...

At least she could see her destination now. She just had to make it down the street, the very long street, and she'd be there, easy as that! No problem! No problem.

The glass door slid open in front of her, and she nearly collapsed as she passed through it. The air inside felt very oppressive and hot, though she knew if she wasn't so tired, she'd be glad for it. "Welcome to Wal-Mart!" a cheerful looking old man told her, reaching for his smiley face stickers. "Say, shouldn't you be at school?"

Chyna quickly ducked her head, trying to hide her face, praying that he was too senile to recognize his own neighbor. How could she forget that Mr. Irvine worked at Wal-Mart? Stupid, stupid... "N-No... I'm here for a project..."

She rushed past him, turning right instead of left, where the incontinence products would be, so he would think she was looking at food or something. A security officer gave her an irritated look that made her slow down as she walked up the aisle, but only until she turned again, cutting back across the store. There were only a few other customers there, most of them young mothers, pushing their carts with their babies in the front, gurgling and cooing happily.

Chyna had a brief flash of her mother picking her up and putting her into one of those carts, beeping her nose before pushing the cart to the baby section of the store and piling the cart full of diapers.

She shook her head. No, that was never going to happen. Not only because she was way too big to ride in the shopping cart anymore... Mostly because her mom, and the rest of the world, was never going to know about all this. No way.

That was when she realized she was starting to wet her pants again. "Nonononono," she closed her eyes, wanting the world to just go away as she tried to cross her legs, to stop herself, but it was too late. "No!" she insisted, stomping her foot, starting to feel like a toddler throwing a tantrum, and not caring too much. This was so unfair... Why did this have to happen to her? Had she asked for this?

Yes. Yes, she had, unknowingly.

"Are you all right, honey?" an unfamiliar voice asked gently, matching the hand touching her shoulder. Chyna glanced up, seeing the mid-twenties looking woman looking down at her with pity. She had a baby boy waiting in her cart, and Chyna would have sworn he was laughing at her.

"I'm fine," she growled, pulling away. "Why wouldn't I be?!"

The woman let her hand fall back down to her side, but her face became more concerned than pitying. "You want some help?"

Chyna glared at her, a deep instinct telling her not to trust the woman. Still, how could it get any worse? "I... I guess..."

The woman looked her over. "What size jeans do you wear?" Chyna told her, and the woman's gaze focused, a bit uncomfortably, at the wet spot on Chyna's pants. "And... umm.. What else do you wear?"

Chyna sighed. "I don't know..." She tried to think of the name of an adult diaper, but nothing came to her mind. "I need... uh..." she blushed and looked away, considering running away.

The woman nodded. "I'll take care of it, all right? You just go wait in the ladies' room, and I'll be there as soon as I can."

"O-Okay," Chyna took out her wallet uncertainly, taking all the money out of it. "I don't know if this will cover it..."

The woman smiled warmly, like someone would to a lost five year old. "I'll see what I can do." Chyna nodded, unable to get her voice to work well enough for a thanks before darting towards the bathrooms. Why did they have to be at the front of the store, where all the cash registers were?

She pulled the stall door closed, locked it, sat down. She wanted to cry, but she was starting to calm down enough to actually care that it wouldn't help. It was a surprisingly short time before she heard the woman's voice outside.

"That you, sweetie?" she asked. Chyna nodded before remembering that the woman couldn't see her.

"Yeah." She stood up, unlatched the door and opened it a crack. The woman handed her a shopping bag, a receipt, and a one dollar bill. "Thanks," Chyna said as she took it all, unable to meet the woman's kind gaze.

"Are you going to be okay?" The woman sounded truly concerned. It wasn't until Chyna had shook her head and closed the door on her that she thought about asking for a ride back home.

The first thing she noticed when she opened the shopping bag was a definite lack of jeans, despite the woman's question. Instead, there was a bright yellow skirt with Tweety Bird on the corner. Hardly something that made Chyna feel grown up, but at least it was dry, and not too bad, other than being a skirt to begin with; they weren't as bad as dresses, but she still wasn't fond of them. From the looks of the receipt, though, it had been on clearance, and, with how much the diapers had cost, she couldn't have afforded much else.

The diapers were youth sized, which turned out to fit well enough. They were a lot thinner than the ones she'd worn in the nursery dimension, and didn't have cute little designs, but there was no denying what they were. Just as there was no denying her need for them.

The skirt fit over her diaper without making it too obvious, as long as she remained careful, as she was already planning to do. She tugged at the hem of it as she stood, grabbing the shopping bag holding what was now her next load of laundry, and headed back out to face the world.

"Home again, home again," she sighed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Anne was right," Raven shook her head as she twisted the top off her bottle of soda. "I wouldn't have believed her if she'd told me."

Ro gave her an odd look. "You actually found something out? Nobody'd give me a straight answer."

Raven shrugged. "I'm a bit more intimidating than you, bro." She snagged one of his chips with a grin. "And if you hang out in the girl's bathroom long enough, you can overhear anything you'd ever need to know."

"I should give that a shot." Ro ducked the hand coming at the back of his head, more from intuition than actual skill. "So, what's doing all this?"

"You're not going to believe me."

"Yeah, I got that." Ro rolled his eyes, feeling very tired of getting that line. He was fairly certain that whatever the answer was, he was ready for it by now.

"It was a leprechaun."

Ro choked on his last bite of chip. "You're kidding, right?" Raven shook her head. "But Saul said..."

"Yeah, well, he lied. Imagine that." Raven was starting to wonder just how much help Saul had really given her after all.

"Maybe he just didn't know about them..." Ro rationalized, although a line like 'Everyone knows there's no such thing as leprechauns' coming from one of the closest things to an expert on the paranormal that he'd ever met was hard to argue with. "Or it could be something that looks like a leprechaun..."

"I guess," Raven took another drink, shrugged.

Ro's eyes narrowed. "Aren't you concerned at all?"

"Why should I be? For once, something's come along that's helping the people of this town, rather than trying to... Oh, I don't know... Eat them."

"You know it can't be that simple, Ray." He'd like to believe it could, especially after the big battle the night before, but he wasn't that much of an optimist.

Raven sighed. "I know, I know." She looked across the cafeteria, at all the people, pleased with their new possessions, or talents, or whatever they had wished for. "Nobody gets to be happy here."

"What are we going to do?" Ro asked quietly.

"Nothing." Raven tore her eyes from the mass of people, focused on the table in front of her. Part of her wanted to get to the bottom of this just to kick the leprechaun's ass for not giving -her- a wish. How many times had she saved this crummy town?! Wasn't it her turn for a reward? What had these assholes done to deserve it that she hadn't?

On the other hand, she wasn't the only person in the cafeteria who had suffered. Maybe her powers were her gift, and that was why she wasn't getting anything else. "Not until we know for sure this is a bad thing."

Ro shrugged. "All right, I guess. But I want to be ready for him, just in case."

Raven nodded. "Yeah, that's a good plan. They mentioned that he vanished after granting the wishes."

"A teleporter. Great." Ro was actually a bit excited at the thought. He'd never had the chance to use anti-teleportation magic before. "You should see if you can figure out where he was seen first. Maybe that's where his house is, or whatever. Nest, maybe."

"No, really?" She cracked a touch of a smile to let Ro know she didn't mean to sound -too- harsh. "I hate this part. All research and no action."

Ro wasn't particularly surprised. "I like the research better. Less chance of dying and all."

Raven grinned. "Exactly! Where's the fun in that?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Chyna!" Their mom called up the stairs after her daughter, who had just stormed away from the dinner table, leaving a fallen glass of water behind her. Ro tried to sink down lower in his chair, wanting to comfort his twin, partly to get away from his parents, who likely wouldn't be pleased with him, since it had been his comment that had set Chyna off, and partly from real concern. He knew she didn't want to see him, though, so he stayed.

"See?" Raven exclaimed triumphantly. "I told you she was acting weird."

Her mother gave her a wilting glare. "Yes, thank you." She set down her fork, pushed back her chair. "And here I thought the first child was supposed to be the most difficult."

Raven gave a fake gasp of surprise and hurt. "Me? Difficult? How could you ever suggest such a thing?"

"John Whalen, perhaps?" Raven actually blushed at the mention of that name from her father, who just chuckled at her expression.

"Who's that?" Ro asked, slowly sitting back up, since the storm seemed to have just been a false alarm. "Don't remember him."

"And you never will," Raven answered before either of her parents had the chance. She stood up, grabbing her plate. "Finish your food, mom. I can handle her." She walked around the table to give her mother a kiss on the top of her head before heading to the kitchen to put her plate in the sink. "I need to see if she's been stealing my clothes again, anyway." Raven couldn't believe Chyna had actually thought she wouldn't notice that one of her favorite shirts was missing. She hadn't wanted to bother her with it that morning, but now she was starting to wonder if this whole thing wasn't just an act after all. If it was... Well, Raven wasn't fond of getting played like that.

"Go easy on her, Raven," her mother called after her as she headed up the stairs.

Chyna's door was still open, just enough for someone outside to see her lying on her bed, hugging her pillow. Raven's blood started to rise, to heat, as she grew more sure that her sister had been lying to her that morning to get out of school. "Hey, Chyna," she forced her voice to stay civil as she stepped into the room.

"Go 'way," Chyna sniffled.

"You wanna talk about it?" Raven asked, sitting down on the edge of her sister's bed, reaching one hand out to stroke Chyna's hair. Chyna shrugged listlessly. "All right... How about we talk about my shirt?" Chyna rolled away from her, sat up, making sure to tug her T-shirt back down after doing so.

"What shirt?" she tried, hoping this was just a test. She knew there was no getting back the last shirt she'd borrowed from Raven... It was in the nursery dimension, having been cut in half last time she had a good look at it.

Raven's hand was at Chyna's forehead before she realized what was going on. "Hmm... Doesn't feel like you have a fever. Did you hit your head on something?" Chyna shook her head uncertainly. "Then you should be able to remember where my shirt is. You just took it last night, after all."

"I... I lost it," Chyna answered finally.

Raven's eyes narrowed. "Did you go to a boy's house last night?"

Chyna blinked uncertainly. "Wha? No!"

"Where did you wear my shirt, then? Where did you lose it?"

"I..." Chyna started, but her brain couldn't come up with anything, so she just stopped there.

"What did you do last night?" Raven demanded, scooting closer to her sister, almost forcing her to fall off the bed.

"I didn't do anything!" Chyna laid back down, started to curl up again. "Leave me alone. I don't..."

"...Fell good," Raven finished for her. "Yeah, sure you don't." She got to her feet, walked over to Chyna's closet.

"What are you doing?" Chyna turned to face her, alarmed. "Leave my stuff alone!"

"I'm just getting my shirt back. It's not like there's anything in here I haven't seen." She threw open the closet door, gave everything a quick look. It didn't take more than that to see that the shirt wasn't there, and neither were any obvious signs of illegal activity on her little sister's part, with how well organized Chyna normally kept everything. She headed over to Chyna's dresser.

Chyna got to her feet. "Raven, get out of my room!" she shrieked, pointing at her door, as if that was enough to get rid of an older sister.

"Calm down, you two," their mother warned from the dining room.

"See?" Chyna said triumphantly. "She wants you to leave me alone."

"I will, once you tell me what's going on." Raven turned back around to face Chyna. "Just tell me what happened."

Chyna gave out a loud huff. "Nothing happened!"

"Then what was wrong this morning?"

"Nothing!" Chyna answered, not thinking. Raven's eyes flashed with anger. "I mean..."

"Yes?" Raven practically hissed.

"I mean..." Chyna gulped. "My... stomach hurt?"

Raven shook her head disgustedly. "You lied to me, didn't you? You used me to get out of school!"

"Nooo..." Chyna hung her head, stared down at her feet.

"I can't believe you." There was a bang as Raven opened one of the drawers in the dresser. "And I thought you were the responsible one in this..." Her voice froze as she saw the package of diapers sitting at the corner of the drawer. "...family."

Neither of the girls were thinking altogether clearly at this point. Chyna launched herself at Raven, furious at having her secret revealed. Raven was still fixed on the diapers, and when she saw the form coming at her from the corner of her eye, she did the most natural thing she could think of.

She hit it.

Chyna gasped, flew back against the wall, tears gushing from her eyes, one of which was already swelling shut.

"Oh my God," Raven breathed. "Oh, God."

Chyna turned her face away from her before letting herself slide down the wall to the floor, landing with a crinkle that Raven heard easily, now that she was expecting it. As Raven rushed out of the room to get some ice, or, even better, her mother, she heard a tearful voice, just barely. "You... bitch..." it said, and she couldn't really disagree with it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chyna stared up at her ceiling, her head feeling more like it was going to crack open any minute. Jeez, Raven could hit hard... She'd always known her sister was strong, but... damn.

The fact that Raven had gotten grounded made her feel somewhat better, though it wasn't nearly enough to cover all the pain. Even the promise of a bigger punishment, once mom and dad had a chance to talk it over, wasn't good enough.

"That's quite the shiner ye got there, little lassie," a little voice said, walking from the foot of her bed towards her.

Chyna rubbed her good eye, though even that was enough to make her wince as pain shot through her head. "Are you...?"

He bowed. "Indeed."

"What are you doing here?" she asked suspiciously. Strange things generally didn't bode well, she'd found over the past couple days.

"I just thought I'd offer ye a wish." He smiled, keeping his hat off.

She exhaled sharply. "Yeah, I've already done the whole wish thing. Not interested in doing it again."

"Are ye sure? Don't ye want some revenge for whoever gave ye that?" The leprechaun lifted his hat, gestured towards her eye.

She turned away, trying to hide her injury. "Not if it's going to screw me over."

He shook his head. "I'd never do that to a pretty lassie like ye."

"Sure you wouldn't." She closed her eyes, hoping this was just a hallucination. Raven would probably get in even more trouble if she had given Chyna hallucinations...

"There's not just one thing ye want?"

Chyna sighed, started to tell him to go away, when an idea struck her. A wish had gotten her into this... A careful wish could get her back out of at least part of it. And if she didn't use her wish for revenge, then not only would she be taking the high road, but maybe fate would be a little kinder to her. Karma, and all that.

"I wish... I wish I didn't have to wear these stupid diapers anymore."

The leprechaun looked a bit surprised, but he nodded anyway. "If that's what ye want..." He put his hat on and vanished.

He wasn't the only thing that did. Chyna could feel the diaper under her start to deflate, like a plastic covered balloon, until it was just her normal underwear. She had a hunch that if she had the energy to look in her dresser, the rest of the package would be gone, too.

"Finally," she smiled. "-Something- is going right."

An all-too-unfamiliar twinge struck her bladder, and she struggled to her feet to go relieve it. She was feeling almost too proud of herself as she walked back to her bed and laid down, her eyes slowly closing as her clock turned to 12:00, and St. Patrick's Day began.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bethany rolled over in the bed, clutching her stomach, fingers spasming suddenly from the pain. The first rays of sunlight of the day began to pour through the bedroom window, but she just turned over to face the other side of the room, the light feeling like it was trying to cut into her retinas.

She couldn't quite read the clock - her vision was starting to go blurry, as the pain in her stomach raced up her body to her head. It looked like one of the hands was pointing to nine, though, and the other to three. School would already be starting, she realized, somewhere deep in the part of her mind that wasn't trying to split apart.

Any other time, she would be pissed about missing St. Patrick's Day with her friends, would be worried about the school calling her parents since she'd be gone for two days.

Now, she just curled up into a ball, trying to bury herself under the blankets, fighting to keep herself from screaming.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The leprechaun glanced up from his cauldron, empty now, just barely hearing Bethany as she lost her fight. He took his hat off with a sigh, sitting down on a nearby tree root. This was going to be a long day.

A gold coin formed at the bottom of the pot, a picture just barely starting to form on its surface.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I'm on my way!" Chyna shouted down the stairs, unable to keep herself from sounding sulky. She'd been hoping her mom wouldn't make her go to school again today; she didn't want to be seen with a black eye, especially when she had no better cover story for it than 'My sister beat me up'. That wasn't a good enough excuse, unfortunately.

She stepped back into the bathroom, flicking her toothbrush to get the last few drops of water off of it before setting it into the stand.

She started to close the door, only to be stopped by a shout of, "You need to leave now, Chyna!"

"Fine!" Chyna threw the door back open, nearly into the bathtub behind it. "I'll just wait until I get to school," she pouted. You'd think people would be more sympathetic to her after the hard day she'd just been through. Obviously not.

She grabbed her backpack, slung it over her shoulder, gave one more look at herself in her mirror, immediately wishing she hadn't. "Stupid Raven," she said with a sigh, before slinking off downstairs where her siblings were waiting for her. Raven smiled uncertainly at her, but she turned away, grabbing a couple pieces of toast and a quick kiss from her mom before going to the car.

"You wanna sit in the front seat?" Ro offered. Normally, the only way she got to ride there was to beat him outside.

She shook her head and got into the back seat, immediately staring out the window as she started chewing on her toast, so that she didn't even have to look at Raven in the driver's seat.

Ro and Raven exchanged glances in the front seat, and Ro shook his head. Chyna sank deeper into her seat. Maybe she should have wished for some kind of revenge after all... She was feeling a lot more vindictive today. How dare Ro and Raven be so close that they didn't even need to talk to each other anymore? Ro was -her- twin, damn it, not Raven's! Shouldn't he be sitting back here with her?

Stupid Raven.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Guys, I'm fine!" Gwen insisted, pulling out her cell phone. "See? I have this. I can just call you. Okay?"

Mommy and daddy nodded, gave no sign of leaving. "We're just making sure you don't need anything," daddy said.

Gwen sighed, rolling her eyes. At least they had gotten her to school early, so that most of the class wasn't there yet to hear all this. "I don't need anything!"

Mommy nodded again, kissing the top of Gwen's head. "Well, just to be sure..."

"I'm sure!" Gwen would have felt bad about yelling at her parents, if she had thought they would care at all. They just kept smiling, like they had when she'd refused to let them pick out her outfit for her today, and then dress her. "Please... Go away."

Her parents glanced at each other, unsure of what to do. "Are you... Are you sure, honey?" Daddy asked finally.

"Yes!" Gwen pointed down the hallway to the front door of the school. "Go! I hafta go to class!"

"Well... All right..." Mommy said uncertainly, bending over to give Gwen one more kiss, what felt like the millionth of the day. Gwen watched them walk away, starting to feel guilty - they hadn't seemed hurt, exactly, but there was still something inside her that told her she was an awful little girl for talking to her parents like that.

"Awww, does baby Gwennie need her Mommy to walk her to class?" an annoying boy named Ian asked as he entered the classroom.

"Shut up!" She followed him into the class, very much considering kicking him until she saw her teacher sitting behind her shamrock-decorated desk already. Gwen trudged back to her own desk, hoping that this was as bad as the day was going to get.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"See? I told you it was going to be fine," Raven whispered to Ro as they stepped into the relatively calm high school. Behind them, Chyna gave a disgusted sigh and pushed between them, walking quickly towards her homeroom.

"Yeah, guess so," Ro said with a shrug. "I'll talk to you later, all right?"

Raven nodded, watched her little brother chasing after Chyna's retreating form. She was glad she'd never been that much of a drama queen... Yeesh. Of course, she felt awful for hurting her, especially since she had found out that maybe there really was something wrong with her after all, but even so, she was over-reacting just a bit. She thought about telling her to act her age, but considering what other kids her age were like, Raven wasn't so sure that would be any better.

"Chyna!" Ro called, instantly wishing he hadn't, as his voice just caused her to walk faster. "Come on, Chyna!"

Chyna gave a loud sigh and stopped, allowing Ro to catch up with her.

"What's wrong?" He asked, putting his arm around her shoulder.

Chyna shoved his arm away from her disgustedly, stepping away. "What do you think's wrong with me, you idiot?!" She continued stomping off towards the class.

"If I knew, why would I be asking?" Ro shook his head. "Women," he added under his breath.

Chyna spun around, nearly losing her balance as her head spun for a few seconds longer than the rest of her. "Why don't you ask Raven? I'm sure she knows. She knows everything! Perfect freakin' Raven!" She stormed away, shoving past a few upperclassmen to get to the doorway. One of them a football player named Martin, acted like he was going to stop her, until he noticed Ro standing there.

"Hey, Martin," Ro nodded to him, hoping to get by with a minimum of conversation - Martin could be a bit of an ass at times.

Martin wasn't looking for conversation either. He shoved Ro violently against the wall of the hallway, glaring at him intently. "Have you been trying to steal my girl, you little bastard?" he snarled, moving up into Ro's face.

"What? Hey, man, chill..." Ro started. Not what Martin wanted to hear; he took a swing at Ro, who ducked underneath it easily, shoving the older boy off of him with a burst of magic. He didn't like using it at school, but some situations just called for it, and this was one of them. By the time Martin had gotten his breath back, Ro was in his classroom, safe for now.

"Dude, I thought the little man made Y.T. like eternally faithful to you or whatever," one of Martin's friends inquired.

Martin shook his head. "I don't trust that little midget." His eyes narrowed. "Haven't you learned from hangin' with me? Never trust short people. They're shifty." He stared into the classroom where Ro had sought his sanctuary. "Hell, don't trust the not-so-short people, either. You never know when they're gonna try to take your girlfriend."

The bell rang, forcing Martin to move from his spot, with every intention of finding Ro again after class. Nobody got away with that. Nobody.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bethany rolled over, hands still shaking. The pain had receded suddenly a few minutes ago, but she had stayed lying down until now, in case it decided to come back. It didn't seem like it was going to.

She could hear Kevin crying in the other room, started to feel bad about not seeing to him. The poor thing was probably hungry, and almost certainly needed a new diaper by now, even with the nighttime diaper she'd put on him last night.

Her knees felt a bit weak as she walked through the house, her mind felt a little foggy. She felt as if she hadn't just gotten a full night's sleep, which she had achieved only by leaving the light in the hallway on again. As she passed by the bathroom, she saw a reflection of her face in the mirror, and she felt herself shudder. Good thing she hadn't gone to school, she told herself, 'I look awful', the guilt of vanity only striking her afterwards. It was true, though. The dark circles around her eyes made her look like she hadn't slept in a week, especially in contrast with her extremely pale face.

She stumbled on the legs of her pajamas as she entered the nursery, reached around to pull them back up, though they already seemed to be most of the way on. "'Morning, Kevin," she said sleepily, reaching down into the crib to pick up her former boyfriend. "Oof... Did you gain weight?"

He didn't answer, just kept crying. "Yes, I know," Bethany sighed, hefting him onto the changing table. "What do you think I'm doing?"

She was just fastening his diaper back up when she heard the phone ringing in the living room. "Great," she shook her head as she set Kevin back down in the crib. "I'll be back soon, Kev."

The answering machine was about to kick in by the time she made it to the phone, snagging the headset with a rather professional, or at least she thought so, "Good morning, Frayn residence."

The voice on the other end was exactly who she feared it would be. "Hi, Mom," she slumped down onto the chair, grabbing the pen from next to the phone and starting to play with it unconsciously. "No, I'm fine... I mean... I wasn't feeling well this morning, so I didn't think I should drive all the way to school. I dunno, I'm still feeling kinda dizzy." She noticed her last few words had come out a little muffled, and took the pen out from between her teeth. "No, Mother, I don't need you to come out here," she rolled her eyes. Parents. "Yes, I promise to call you if I'm not feeling better by tonight."

There was another cry from the nursery. Bethany winced - maybe her mom hadn't heard it. "What? No, that was the TV." Damn. Why did fate hate her so much? "No, I didn't stay home just to watch TV all day." She set the pen back on the table after removing it from her mouth again. "Have a good day at work, mom. Love you, too."

The phone went back on its cradle with a click, and Bethany gave a relieved sigh. That hadn't been too bad, really... She stayed there for a few seconds, just staring upwards, feeling tired, before going back to the nursery, where she found Kevin standing up awkwardly in his crib, in a diaper that was wet again. "Already?" she whined. "What did I ever do to you?" Her mind answered her, and she couldn't help but reply with a giggle. "Well, other than that."

The sleeve of her pajamas fell over her hand as she reached into the crib, and she had to push it back up her arm. "Let's do this again."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chyna raised her hand patiently, although once it had been up there a few seconds, she started to wave it. Her teacher wasn't paying attention to her, as usual. Ro noticed her struggle, decided to help out by raising his own hand. Mr. Pullman instantly called on him, of course.

"Yeah, I think Chyna has something to add," Ro winked at her, earning only a dirty look in reward.

"Yes, what is it?" Mr. Pullman asked, sounding bored already.

"Can I - Er, may I - uh... Can I have a hall pass, please?" Chyna blushed, feeling like every eye in the class was on her. She prayed Mr. Pullman was in a gracious mood today. Usually he didn't like students leaving the class for anything, but she just couldn't wait any longer. She'd already been waiting since she'd woken up, and there was only so much a girl could take.

Mr. Pullman squinted over his glasses at her for a long moment. "All right," he said finally.

Chyna got to her feet, tried not too rush too obviously to the front of the room to get the pass. "Thanks," she mumbled. She calmly closed the classroom door behind her, then took off at a sprint towards the nearest bathroom.

"There we go," she told herself, shutting the door of one of the stalls, unzipping her jeans. One thing she had to give diapers - they were more convenient than this in a pinch. Still, she preferred using the toilet like a normal grown-up, thank you very much.

She moved her hands back up to the waistband of her panties, and once again, they slid right off. "What the hell?" She tried again, wrapping her fingers underneath the top of her underwear, but it still didn't budge when she tried to pull it downwards.

"Damn wishes," she sat down on the toilet, leaning back to bang the back of her head against the wall. "When will I learn?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I bet they're gonna have green mashed potatoes again this year," Gwen giggled to Connie as they headed to the door of the classroom in as much of an orderly fashion as a bunch of 10 year olds could manage. "Do you remember last year when...?"

"Umm... Your parents are here," Connie interrupted her.

Gwen rolled her eyes. "Again?" Sure enough, her parents were there, at the doorway, talking to her teacher. Mommy waved at her when she saw that she'd noticed them. Gwen waved back half-heartedly. "My parents are... kinda crazy," she said with a shrug as she and Connie drew closer, and mommy started beckoning for her to come to her. She pretended not to notice until they were already at the door.

"There you are, sweetheart!" Mommy bent down to give her a big bear hug. "We missed you, so we thought we'd take you out for lunch!"

"Umm... Okay..." It would be better than what they had at school, she knew, even if there probably wouldn't be green mashed potatoes.

Mommy beamed, and Gwen felt a hand moving to the back of her skirt, and then a quick tug backwards. "Oh, such a good girl!" Mommy beamed proudly. "No accidents! What a big girl!"

Gwen's face burned red as what seemed like the entirety of her class turned around and saw her. "Mom!" she hissed, grabbing her and daddy's hands and tugging them away as quickly as possible. She could hear snickers coming from behind her back, and her face darkened a few shades. How was she going to live down this humiliation?

"-Someone's- hungry," daddy chuckled, lifting her up into his arms easily.

"Put me down!" she exclaimed quickly, and loudly enough to draw attention to herself, if it had enough time to be drawn away from her in the first place. Her daddy ignored her, bounced her on his arm a little.

"We're gonna have fun, aren't we?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"So... You ready to do something now?" Ro asked from behind Raven.

Raven finally managed to pick her jaw up off the floor. "Holy shit," she whispered, not sure what else to say to the sight that had greeted her eyes a minute ago, as she stepped out of her classroom. She had been expecting some level of chaos, after seeing a boy literally rip his pants off on the middle of class and then run off, leaving them behind. There had been a large hole that appeared to have melted through the fabric of his jeans and, before that, his wallet.

But that was nothing compared to what she saw now. There were people with two heads, both crying, somebody who appeared to be trying to run away from a floating sword that was chasing him, a girl who had grown wings that were starting to rot off, and, at one end of the hallway, the girl from yesterday, still surrounded by her group of admirers. Except now, those admirers were slowly turning to stone, one limb at a time, as the girl's hair transformed into a bed of snakes to compliment her now hideous face.

"God, I hate this school," Raven shook her head. "So, I guess we should try not to actually kill anyone."

"Yeah. Yeah, that'd be good." Ro fell silent as Chyna appeared, then quickly went back towards the bathroom, bottom lip firmly planted between her teeth, practically bouncing up and down as she rushed through the hall.

"Let's do this," Raven nodded, running forward and snatching the sword out of the air in front of the boy. "Mind if I borrow this for a second?" she asked, smiling nonchalantly until it nearly tore free from her grasp. "Hey! A little respect here!" she demanded, banging the flat of the blade against the wall. "That's better."

She lowered her head, charging towards the Medusa at the end of the hall, trying to formulate a plan as she ran. She could see the girl's feet, and a bit of her legs, not daring to allow her head to roam any higher, not sure how far away she could be without getting petrified for seeing the girl. It was the sword that came up with the plan, really, as it recovered enough to try to escape her grasp again.

In trying to control it, she swung it in front of her. It tried to take advantage of that, but she was too quick for it, flipping it around so that the flat of the blade was coming towards her, rather than the edge. She could see Medusa right in front of her, so she slammed her hands forward, and the blade hit the monster's stomach, pushing her backwards, until she was pinned against the wall. Now what was she going to do with her? She could feel the snakes trying to snap at her shoulders, and the girl herself was saying a lot of things at her that she could only assume were anicent Greek curses.

"Over here!" Ro called from a few feet to her right, where he was struggling with the door to a janitor's closet. Raven pushed her charge over to the door, shoved her inside, a little more roughly than she had meant, but with the desired effect of the monster flipping over and falling on her face.

"Sorry," Raven shrugged, "but I think you'd better stay here for a while." The sword wiggled some more, so she took another step into the closet, and plunged it into the wall up to its hilt. It wouldn't keep it there indefinitely, but it should buy whoever it belonged to enough time to get far, far away, if he hadn't already.

"Raven?"

Raven gasped at the sound of Anne's voice from a corner of the closet. "What are you doing, Anne?" She'd wondered where her friend was when she hadn't showed to class; this was about the last place she'd have expected to find her.

She knelt down next to her. Anne tried to scurry away, frightened. "Don't look at me!" she screamed. But Raven had already noticed the bloody scratch marks on the girl's flesh, wherever a piece of her jewelry was. The jewelry itself appeared to have turned into pure glass, and was now melted to Anne's flesh, apparently pretty deeply. "Raven, don't!" Anne begged as Ray bent a little closer, to see her reflection in the glass.

The reflection wasn't just of her face - instead, it showed her whole body, taller, slimmer, more beautiful than she was in real life. The reflection looked down her nose at the real Raven, and then started to laugh at her. "Oh, Anne," it said, in a voice that was only vaguely similar to Raven's real voice. "You don't really think you could ever be as good as me, do you? Nobody's as perfect as me."

Anne crawled backwards, away from Raven. "Don't look at me," she pleaded again.

Raven nodded, getting to her feet, feeling a bit shaken. "You might want to find somewhere else to hide," she said finally, backing out of the closet.

"Raven, I don't really think of you like that, I swear!" Anne cried.

Raven just nodded, not sure what else to do. "I'll fix this, Anne. Trust me."

Anne wiped her eyes with her sleeve and got to her feet, walked past Raven so that Ro could close the door on Medusa and lock her back in. "Of course I will, Anne. I can fix anything, because there's nothing I can't do," the mirror Ravens echoed. Anne paled, and ran off.

"I think we'd better find us a leprechaun."

Raven made a vague noise of agreement. "From what I can tell, he hit the houses closest to the forest to begin with."

"Great. That's perfect," Ro sighed. "It'd be nice if they'd close the school so we don't have to worry about Chyna being in the middle of all this. And, you know, so nobody ends up devouring each other while we're gone."

Raven snorted. "Close the school? For anything short of the Apocalypse? Please."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Ow!" Bethany's eyes watered as she stuck her finger into her mouth, dropping the knife onto the counter beside the package of hot dogs she'd been trying to get open with them. She reeled backwards, stepping on her pajama bottoms and nearly pulling them off before she she tugged them back up with her other hand.

The counters seemed to be a little higher than they had been the day before - she blamed the accident on that. Normally, she'd never do something so stupid. Of course, there was no way the counters actually -were- any higher than before, so that didn't help her case any.

She took her finger back out of her mouth and looked at it. Satisfied that it was done bleeding, she picked up the hot dogs again, stuck her fingers into the tear she had started with the knife, and pulled the package apart as hard as she could. The plastic resisted up until the last second before giving way to her superior strength. "Take that!" she giggled triumphantly. She couldn't remember the last time she'd eaten hot dogs... They kind of grossed her out normally, though they'd been one of her favorite foods when she was younger. She had just had a weird craving for them today.

Grabbing one, she set it onto the plate she had waiting, put it into the microwave. The sleeve of her pajamas fell over her hand again, just like it had been all morning, as she started to press the buttons to set the timer. Frustrated, she just took her shirt off, throwing it to one corner of the kitchen. And why not? She was the only person here, and she had her bra on still... Speaking of which, she seemed to have put on someone else's by mistake, because the one she had one was fitting very loosely. Very, very loosely. She attempted to adjust it, eventually just taking it off entirely, as she walked back the the bedroom to get one of her T-shirts.

"Huh... That's weird..." she spoke out loud, digging through her suitcase. It looked like she had somehow packed someone else's clothes instead of hers - they were all a good deal too big for her. But they were all she had, other than what she had worn the past couple days, so she sucked it up and put on one of the big T-shirts, which fit her almost like a fairly short dress. She planned on keeping her pajama pants on, until she tripped on them again heading out, and she finally got fed up with that, and took them off, her panties falling off without the pants to keep them on her body.

She blushed a little; going without underwear had always seemed gross to her, but all of the other panties she'd brought were the same size as these. And the shirt covered up everything... And, hey, like she'd said before, it was just her here, and Kevin, who was taking a nap. No big deal.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Come on, guys, I don't want to sit between you," Gwen complained, trying to squeeze over her father and to the other side of the booth. Why had they wanted the squeeze all three of them onto one side, anyway?

"Oh, of course," mommy smiled at daddy. "We understand, sweetie."

Daddy got up from the table, and Gwen started to move to the other bench, until mommy's arms stopped her as they pulled her into another hug, kept her held close, stroking her hair. Gwen didn't mind that too much, so she cuddled up against mommy's side.

Till daddy came back, carrying a high chair.

"Who's that for?" she asked nervously.

"Don't be silly," daddy chuckled as he set it down beside the table, and then reached for her. "It's for our precious little girl."

"No!" Gwen attempting to squirm away, unsuccessfully. "I'm too big for a high chair!" Only, apparently she wasn't, since she fit into it, though just barely. Daddy set the tray down over her lap, sat down on the other side of the booth, so that Gwen had a parent on each side. Mommy smiled at her, reached up to stroke her cheek lovingly.

"We just want what's best for our baby."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The leprechaun stared at the pot of gold angrily, every coin that appeared breaking his heart a little more. What was taking them so long?

Why hadn't they stopped him yet?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chyna set her tray down at the empty table with a sigh, glaring angrily at the table where Raven and Ro were discussing something rather fervently before turning her back on it to sit down.

"Wouldn't you rather sit with your friends?" she mocked, shaking her head. Yeah, of course she would, if any of them were here, and acting normally. As if she'd sit with Raven as anything but a last resort. And even that hadn't worked out.

She didn't even open the carton of milk at the corner of her tray, the thought of more liquid in her system making her cringe. As expected, her panties still wouldn't come off of her after her last class, so she was still struggling to keep them dry, in hopes of a miracle. She nibbled at the corned beef on her plate, not feeling particularly hungry.

"Hey, Chyna!" Ro called from right behind her.

Chyna jumped, biting back an angry retort in favor of using that energy to stop the little spurt of pee that her bladder released from becoming a torrent. She quickly glanced at her crotch, relieved to see a marked absence of a wet spot there.

"What do you want?" she asked finally. Had they felt bad about not letting her sit with them, after seeing her over here all by herself?

"Yeah, we were wondering if you could cover for us. You know, if anyone asks where we are, just tell them we had an errand to run."

Chyna could almost literally feel her hopes crumbling inside of her, like a building that had just been smacked around by one of those big black balls. "Where are you going?" she asked, leaving the more pressing question 'Why am I not invited?' unspoken.

Ro glanced uncertainly at Raven. "It's... It's somewhere important."

"Look, it'll just be a big favor to us, all right?" Raven interjected. "We'll both owe you one."

"Screw you." Chyna turned back to her food, mostly to keep Raven from seeing the tears at the corners of her eyes. They were probably going off to do something cool, since they wouldn't have the chance after school, what with Raven being grounded, or at least go get some decent food, and she just wasn't good enough to go with them.

There was a long silence before Ro spoke up again. "So, can we count on you?"

She threw her milk at them.

"We'll make it up to you, Chyna, I promise." Raven tried to sound as sincere as possible, but even Chyna could tell that she had no idea how she was going to 'make it up to her'. And she probably had no intention of trying, either.

There was silence for another couple minutes, and then she heard them leaving. She wasn't sure if she was going to help them or not, yet. She wasn't even sure if she was going to be in class -to- help them. She'd probably be locking herself in the bathroom in a few minutes, and not coming out for a good, long time.

"Well, this is weiwd," Bethany said, staring at the microwave, which seemed to have grown a bit taller. She clasped her hands over her mouth with a gasp.

When had her lisp come back? She thought she'd gotten rid of that back when she was 9, and she had to go to speech therapy every day after school. How had it come back after all this time?

"Hmm... This sounds like a case for Scooby Doo," she concluded, grabbing her plate from the microwave and hurrying into the living room to turn on the TV, where, indeed, Scooby Doo was having some crazy adventures. She curled up on the couch and giggled at the show as she ate her lunch with her fingers, glad mommy wasn't around to see her. Mommy never let her have any fun.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"There we go," mommy smiled, as she finished cutting up Gwen's grilled cheese sandwich, much to the girl's dismay. "Hmm... It's a little cool. Do you want me to get them to warm it up?"

"No!" Gwen sulked in her high chair, trying to sink down into the plastic covered seat as far as possible, her main goal being to disappear completely.

"Now open wide!" Daddy picked up her fork, and speared one of the pieces of grilled cheese on it, aiming it towards his horrified little girl's mouth. On her other side, mommy was gently stroking her arm.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Stupid leprechaun," Raven complained, pushing aside another branch. "Why did he have to choose the forest?"

"Maybe he's a fan of nature," Ro suggested.

"Then again, for all we know, he's not anywhere around here," Raven mused. "He can teleport, after all... He could be based anywhere, and he just randomly happened to visit the people that lived near here first."

"Not likely," Ro replied. "Teleportation is quicker than traveling on foot, but it's still tiring. I'm sure he chose his path deliberately, so as to..."

"Shh!" Raven put her fingers to her lips, starting to crouch down. "I think I hear something."

"I'd certainly hope so," the leprechaun said. "I was beginning to think ye'd gone deaf."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chyna intended to be a good girl, and take her tray up to the kitchen window, where it belonged, but the line was already too long, and she could tell her time was getting very short. She got to her feet, praying she'd at least make it out of the cafeteria before the dam broke.

"Where's your brother?" Martin, a rather large and intimidating football player asked. Martin was the stereotypical jock - all muscle, no brain - and Chyna couldn't stand him in the best of times. In fact, she had made it a point to find a way to make his life hell before he graduated, but didn't have a good plan yet.

"Not here," Chyna answered briskly, starting to skirt around him. "Sorry."

Martin's expression didn't change much, but Chyna could feel his anger growing around him like a raincloud. "Has he been with my Y.T.?"

Chyna shrugged. "Wouldn't know."

"Don't give me that! I know how you are, always snooping around; how could you not know?" His hand clasped onto her shoulder, squeezing it tightly. "Now you're going to tell me everything you know..."

If keeping her from relieving the growing pain in her bladder wasn't enough, then the inherent threat in his voice now was. Chyna spun around and stomping her foot down hard on Martin's, then slugged him in the stomach as hard as she could. She wasn't the strongest person in the world, but she could tell that it hurt.

And now she needed to run, before she got torn in half.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bethany yawned, reaching up to rub her eyes, only to find that one of her hands was already right by her face, and the thumb of that hand was rather soggy. The television was still playing in front of her, but through the halls, she could hear the echo of a baby crying.

"Kevin!" she exclaimed suddenly, getting to her feet, nearly tripping on the bottom of the T-shirt. "Stupid baby... Pwolly needs anovew diapew." She shook her head, blushing. Good thing none of her friends were around to hear her talking like this. Yeesh.

She walked into the nursery, where she saw Kevin, who, sure enough, looked like he needed a diaper change. She yawned at she walked up to the crib, reaching over to pick him up.

Except not. Her hands hit the bars of the crib for a second, then went between them, though that wouldn't help any, either. She withdrew them, stood on her tiptoes, but it was all she could do to reach the top of the crib. No way was she going to be lifting anything over that.

"When'd you get so big, Kevin?" she blinked, suddenly realizing her size in relation to that of her former boyfriend. Was the wish wearing off? And what was the point of making a crib so freaking tall?

But as she took a longer look around the room, she saw that everything in it was unnecessarily big. She could fit on the changing table, easy. And even the diapers on the table appeared to be big enough to fit her. But that was crazy. No way could a baby diaper be big enough for her.

She must still be feeling bad, she concluded. What she needed was another nap.

Ignoring Kevin's cries, she trundled back to the living room, thumb returning subconsciously to her mouth. She didn't bother correcting it - what harm could it do? - as she climbed onto the couch again and curled up, drifting quickly back to sleep.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gwen tried once again to sink down out of the high chair, to escape from her parents' notice, but the bar between her legs stopped her before she could do a whole lot of hiding.

"Isn't she the best little girl you've ever seen?" daddy asked a random passer-by, quite loudly. The other man just gave them a strange look and walked away from them as fast as he could.

"She's the most precious thing ever," mommy agreed, even though the last comment hadn't been directed at her at all. She turned to Gwen and beeped her nose. "You're the most precious thing ever."

Daddy followed the other man, an angry look clouding his face. "What's wrong with you? Why didn't you agree?" The man continued to ignore him, so daddy tackled him.

From her high chair, Gwen could hear blows raining down on the man's body. And a few minutes later, she heard other people approaching, and the sound she recognized from TV as a gun being cocked.

"Sir! We're going to have to ask you to calm down!"

Daddy stopped hitting the man, stood back up with a smile. "Do -you- think my daughter is the best little girl you've ever seen?"

The policemen glanced around at each other, confused. "Sir..?"

"You didn't say yes!" daddy screamed.

Gwen heard him rushing forward, and then she heard a gunshot. She gasped, heart pounding like a jackhammer, tears brimming in her eyes.

Mommy leaned in closer to her, grinning. "Now I have you all to myself," she said, her voice as cheerful, if not more so, than ever.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The leprechaun reached into his pot of gold, pulling out a few coins. Raven readied herself, her hand tightening around the hilt of the knife she always kept in the trunk of her car. Perhaps she should have stopped off at home and got her new sword. This guy was small, but she had a feeling he was much more dangerous than he appeared.

He let the coins slip between his fingers, the pictures staring up at him. "So many," he said quietly. "I wonder why so many o' them have to do with people acting like babies... That's kind o' odd."

"Yeah, just a little," Ro agreed.

"I guess I'd better fight ye," the leprechaun brushed off his pants as he stood. "What I'm here for and all."

"Aren't you here to... steal gold, or whatever?" Raven asked, perplexed.

The leprechaun smiled. "Not quite." Raven dove towards him, brandishing her knife, the blade shimmering in the afternoon light as it dipped downward, towards the little man. He closed his eyes, preparing to teleport behind her.

When he opened his eyes, he was in the same spot. "Oh, clever."

"Thanks," Ro grinned.

The leprechaun stepped back, taking off his hat dramatically. Raven could see blood dripping from the slash she had made across his chest. "I have been defeated. Good show, everyone."

Raven froze, a bit confused. "Huh?"

"I'm saying I concede, lassie. I'd only have lost in the end, anyway." The leprechaun began to step away. "All shall be restored, and all that..."

"What makes you think we trust you to do that?" Raven poked her knife towards him.

"Ye don't have to trust me, lassie," he said, winking. "I trust ye."

And then he vanished.

"Well, that was rather anticlimactic," Raven complained as she stood up. "I was expecting something bigger. And, hey, not to mention the teleportation that I thought he couldn't do." She smacked Ro on the back of the head. "Way to drop the ball, there."

"He shouldn't have been able to." Ro rubbed his head. "There was something fishy about him..."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chyna might have made it, if she had been used to running for any semi-long length of time. As it was, she could already hear Martin's heavy footsteps coming after her, unhindered by the shouts of teachers for the two of them to calm down. Her legs were already feeling sore, but the bathroom was just a few feet away... Just a few feet...

She put on an extra burst of speed, putting her arm up in front of her face to push open the door, then swing it behind her as hard as she could. She slipped a bit as she came to a stop, but she kept herself from falling over. "That.. was a... rush..." she panted.

The door flew open, and Martin came through it. Chyna had time to think about getting out of the way before he slammed her, face first, into the wall, just inches away from the line of mirrors. She could feel blood start spurting from her nose, but somehow, it didn't hurt quite as bad as when Raven had hit her yesterday.

Martin spun her around, drove his fist into her stomach, like she had done to him. If she'd had the air in her lungs to do it with, Chyna would have gasped. Instead, she felt her pants growing warmer as she started to pee, and this time she knew there was no stopping it.

Martin pushed her back against the wall. "Tell me!" he screamed in her face. "Tell me!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"You've failed us."

The leprechaun bowed his head. "I know. I couldn't do it any more."

"You were created for a reason, puppet."

"You were not created to go easy on her."

"You were meant to test her limits."

"Hers, maybe, but not at the price of the rest of the town." The leprechaun shook his head defiantly. "They've done nothing to you."

"They are nothing to us."

"They can live or die - it is no consequence."

"Well, it is to me." He knew his time was coming quickly to an end. He could feel the molecules of his body starting to pull away from each other, the reverse of what he had felt when this form had been created. He'd failed the Circle. There was no going back from that.

No going back. But that didn't mean he couldn't make good on his promise. He still had some power left, and if he didn't use it now, it would just return to them. He could make it right, everything they'd made him do.

"You are worthless to us."

The smile was the last thing left of the leprechaun, like some kind of Cheshire Cat, and soon even that was gone, leaving behind only emptiness.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bethany sighed, feeling very exasperated with Kevin right now. He could be such a jerk sometimes. "I told you, I don't like that house." She listened impatiently. "No, I'm -not- acting like a baby."

Bethany wasn't sure what she had ever seen in Kevin... There had been something about him that was bothering her more and more nowadays. Her mom had always told her that boys were after only one thing - especially the ones her age - so she had expected that from him. But the more she was around him, the more she started to wonder if that was all there was too his personality. It certainly seemed that way.

"Maybe you can come over tomorrow, okay? What?" She rolled her eyes "Yes, my parents will be around... Well, you can either do that, or not see me at all, I guess."

She was hardly surprised at his choice, and she couldn't bring herself to feel too broken up about it. Rather, she felt relieved.

"Was that the Frayns?" her mom asked as Bethany returned the handset to the phone in the kitchen.

"Yeah, they just called me and said they changed their mind about wanting me to stay in their house overnight," Bethany fibbed, grabbing a baby carrot from the salad her mother was making. "Now, about dying my hair for St. Patrick's Day..."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Did you hear? I heard Pastor O'Brien went missing the other day," one of mommy's friends gossiped. Gwen sighed and leaned back in her chair. Why were adults always so boring?

Mommy seemed to notice her bored look, and walked over to her, kissing the top of her head. Gwen started to get up, expecting to be told to go to her room, where she could be more bored - wasn't she lucky? She'd even been doing her best to be good so far, not bouncing around in her chair -too- much, trying to remember to be polite to their guests, and had pretended to be interested in their conversations for as long as humanly possible.

"How'd you like to learn to play bridge?" Mommy asked instead, pulling up a chair next to Gwen.

Gwen was confused for a second, unsure of what to say. Bridge was a grown up card game, and probably boring as anything. Still... It had to be better than sitting in her room alone. "Okay," Gwen beamed, scooting over closer to mommy and leaning up against her arm. Mommy smiled down at her, and put her arm around her shoulder.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I don't feel well!" Chyna complained from the other side of her door, for what seemed like the thousandth time.

"Just let me look at you to make sure you aren't dead," Raven sighed. Chyna opened her door about halfway, leaning on the side of the door. "Jeez... Did a tornado go through here?"

Chyna sulked. "Are you satisfied?"

Raven nodded, stepping in closer to her little sister to give her a kiss on the forehead. "Feel better, honey."

"Okay," Chyna replied. "Oh... Would this be a good time to mention that I kinda lost your shirt?"

"Shirt?" Raven cocked her head slightly. "You borrowed one of my shirts?"

Chyna blushed a bit. "Maybe..."

Raven sighed. "What have I told you about that?"

Chyna rolled her eyes. "Don't borrow my clothes, Chyna, because you're an immature baby who I can't trust with any of my stuff," she recited.

"Exactly." Raven ruffled Chyna's hair. "Except I don't sound that stuck up when I say it. Get some sleep, kiddo." She started to head down the steps, turned back halfway there, as Chyna was shutting her door again. "And you owe me a new shirt."

"Whatever." Chyna shut her door all the way, a few minutes later hearing the engine of Raven's car start. She walked over to her window, pulled back the curtains just a bit. Raven and Ro were sitting in the front seat, chatting away happily, neither of them appearing to care that their sister was feeling bad.

Of course, they hadn't care last time, either. Why should they now?

Chyna's hand reached up to her eye gingerly, still expecting to feel a bump there, evidence of just how much her sister "cared" about her.

"Perfect Raven," Chyna growled, shaking her head. "I'll teach her a lesson, one of these..."

Her vow of revenge was interrupted by  the feeling of her fragile bladder letting go and flooding her diaper, a warm wet feeling spreading across her bottom. Her face flushed red, even though she'd been expecting it to happen any second.

She opened her dresser, getting out a fresh diaper from the package, preparing to change herself so that she could take a nice, long, nap. The walk to Wal-Mart was bad enough during the day - it had been downright exhausting doing it last night after the rest of her family was asleep.

"One of these days," she concluded finally. "You know, if I don't die from embarrassment first."
