Recapitulation - Discussion & Author's NotesFor any comments on the story.
Author's Notes: I didn't really have any idea where this story was going when I started it, honestly... I thought of the song bit while I was in the shower, after having a brief thought about making the main character be baby new year somehow. I didn't actually want to write about the party, though, since these stories are supposed to be about the relationship between the two main characters, and the more characters you add to that, the less well they work (in my opinion). Plus, I don't think I've ever given anybody in the entire series a name, which would have been difficult to impossible to maintain if the party was more than a few people.
So I decided to write about something that happened afterwards instead. Originally, it was going to open in the actual church, but then I thought that it would be kinda ironic, and probably a little easier to do, if the main character was helping out in the nursery instead. The movie thing was partly an extension of my own annoyance that the movie theater in my town isn't showing Sweeney Todd for whatever reason, but that if I was in another town, I would definitely be going to see it.
The story took maybe a couple hours, if that, to finish, at least fifteen minutes of which was just figuring out the title.
Incidentally, when I ran the story through spell-check, molassas-like came up as milkshake, which I thought was kinda funny. Also, it didn't recognize Depp. Obviously, it is from the Dark Ages. Where they apparently had milkshakes.
